Roman Dorczak
Leader
Roman Dorczak (Ph.D.) university teacher, psychologist and researcher, works at the Institute for Public Affairs in the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
His research interests are focused on educational leadership and management, school culture, teacher training and development, cooperation between schools and other social services.
He worked as a teacher in primary and secondary school (1994-1996) and in Cracow City Police working on prevention programmes developed with the network of schools of different type.
Recently, he co-designed and led governmental project funded by EU (2013-2015) aimed in developing system of preparation, development and support of educational leaders for Polish schools of different type.
He teaches courses on psychology, educational leadership , organizational culture and organizational behaviour. He designed and was responsible for successful running of the postgraduate course “Educational Management” at Jagiellonian University for last decade.
He worked for the international project “Developing schools for Democracy in Europe” led by Oxford University Department of Educational Styudies ( 1993-1997). Was awarded a Farmington Institute Fellowship (1995) at Oxford University Manchester-Harris College to work on democratic education for schools project. He was involved in the initiative aiming at school improvement and evaluation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2015-16).
Since 2014 he is a member of ENIRDELM ( European Network of International Research and Development in Educational Leadership and Management) Board, in September 2016 elected for President of the Board.
He plays the role of Editor-in-Chief of new international journal Contemporary Educational Leadership that promotes new approaches in theory and research on educational leadership.
